Rendang is a popular Indonesian dish made with beef, coconut milk, and a
blend of spices. Here's a recipe to make rendang:

2 cans (14 oz each) coconut milk
3-4 stalks lemongrass, bruised
6 kaffir lime leaves
2 turmeric leaves (optional)
1 tsp tamarind paste
2 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsp palm sugar (or brown sugar)
Salt, to taste
Spice Paste:
10 dried red chilies, soaked in hot water
10 shallots
6 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
1 inch galangal

Instructions:
Blend the spice paste ingredients in a food processor or blender until you get
a smooth paste.
In a large pot or wok, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the spice paste
and cook until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the beef and stir to coat with the spice paste. Cook for a few minutes
until the beef is browned on all sides.
Add the coconut milk, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, turmeric leaves (if using),
tamarind paste, palm sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Let the rendang simmer
uncovered for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and
the beef is tender and flavorful.
Once the rendang is done, remove the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and turmeric
leaves (if using) from the pot.
Serve hot with steamed rice and enjoy your delicious rendang!
